Copyediting &

Ghostwriting

Are you happy with your written materials? Are they getting the response you hoped for? If not, it might be time for a fresh set of eyes. That's where copyediting can pay big dividends. Or, if you don't have the time, skills, or patience to write your own materials, you could benefit from the services of a ghostwriter.

ABOUT COPYEDITING

According to Wikipedia...

Copyediting is the process of reviewing and correcting written material to improve accuracy, readability, and fitness for its purpose, and to ensure that it is free of error, omission, inconsistency, and repetition.

As noted, copyediting provides an independent, unbiased assessment of your material's "fitness for its purpose". Copyediting can be divided into three general levels:

Proofreading catches grammar issues and typos.

Line editing includes proofreading but also addresses issues of readability, logic, and clarity.

Content editing includes line editing but also addresses overall structure, flow, substance, links, references, and suitability for the intended audience. May include restructuring as needed.

Quite often, minor revisions and restructuring will provide major improvement without substantially changing your original materials.

ABOUT GHOSTWRITING

According to Wikipedia...

ghostwriter is hired to write literary or journalistic works, speeches, or other texts that are officially credited to another person as the author. Celebrities, executives, participants in timely news stories, and political leaders often hire ghostwriters to draft or edit autobiographies, memoirs, magazine articles, or other written material. [...] Screenplay authors can also use ghostwriters to either edit or rewrite their scripts to improve them.

The keys to ghostwriting are to be true to the original author's vision, write using the author's voice and pacing, and deal with multiple rounds of revisions while accommodating the author's schedule.

I am also a professional screenwriter, and have provided ghostwriting in revising and collaborating on various screenplays.
